October's Scoop: Change is good!

Welcome to the very first Flying Apron Bakery blog-style newsletter! It is so exciting to have a way to connect with our loyal customers and to keep you up to date on the latest happenings at the F.A.B.

October brings many good things to the Flying Apron and our valued customers! Let us begin with the changes many of you may have noticed:

We have recently discontinued our whole- sale efforts and decided to focus on making our café location in Fremont as abundant and beautiful as possible. This means our products are solely available at our retail location and through online shipping and they will be the freshest quality and most reasonable price possible. We do apologize for any inconvenience and will make sure the difference in quality is well worth your trip to see us in Fremont.

We have a fabulous new savory cook providing you with delectable soups, salads, Apron Pockets, and other lunch and dinner items. Lark brings her knowledge of organic food preparation and wonderful ideas on how to live a healthful, vegetarian lifestyle. Welcome, Lark! We are so excited to have you.

Jennifer Katzinger is the proud owner of the F.A.B. and a new mom! Jenn and baby Lilly will be making more frequent appearances at the café and are looking forward to seeing the shining faces of our valued customers. (If you haven’t had a chance to meet these two gals, you are in for a truly heart-warming introduction when you do cross paths.) Jenn is featuring a bread-making class on the 24th of October. She will focus on high fiber, wholesome bread making techniques with gluten-free flours.  Class fee is $25 and will be 2 hours in length. Everyone goes home with a loaf of bread and a recipe. The class size is limited to 12 so folks will need to register and pay in advance by October 17th. Register today in-person at our Fremont cafe or by calling us at 206.442.1115.

More exciting news!!!! The first Flying Apron Bakery vegan/gluten-free cookbook is coming to you in November! In celebration, we will be hosting a Cookbook Release Party on Saturday, December 5th. This will be a great opportunity to meet the author and owner of the F.A.B., pick up a copy of the long-awaited cookbook and ask any questions you may have about vegan/gluten-free cooking and baking. See you there!

The Flying Apron will now be featuring a Cupcake of the Month! By popular demand, vegan/gluten-free cupcakes are now available daily at our retail location for your guilt-free enjoyment. October's feature is the seasonally delightful Pumpkin Spice Cupcake! Come by and enjoy yours with a cup of Cafe Vita coffee today.. Every one of your senses will thank you.

Speaking of Cafe Vita, the wonderful staff of our local roasters have recently provided us with top-notch espresso machine service and cleaning as well as useful tips on how to prepare the most coveted cup'o'joe in the city. Your feedback is valuable to us and as a result, our coffee is now better than ever. Thank you, Cafe Vita!

Last but certainly not least, F.A.B. is now on Facebook and Twitter. Become a fan of Flying Apron on Facebook at  http://tinyurl.com/flyingapronfacebook and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/flyingapron to get exclusive offers redeemable at the cafe!
